Looking for a friendly place to share your love of yarn, creativity and handmade projects? We'd love to meet you!
Toronto Crochet Hookups Group is a social crafting community where crochet is at the heart of what we do. We also welcome knitters, quilters and fellow fibre-art enthusiasts. Whether you've been crafting for decades or are still finding your way around your yarn stash, there's a place for you here.
We're not a formal class or instructional group. Instead, we gather to work on our own projects, share ideas, exchange knowledge, lend a helping hand and enjoy good company.
Monthly Meetings
We meet on the third Saturday of each month, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Our gatherings are a chance to catch up, work on our latest creations, share inspiration while we enjoy time together.
Lunch Is Part of the Fun!
Our regular meetings feature a potluck-style lunch, giving everyone an opportunity to share food and conversation. We do our best to accomodate all allergies and dietary conditions to keep everyone healthy, happy and well fed. At our December Holiday Meeting, the group provides chicken or turkey, and members bring sides to create a festive meal together.
Learning, Sharing & Creating
We're always happy to share what we know! While our meetings aren't formal lessons, members often exchange tips, offer advice, and help one another work through a tricky stitch or project. We also love sharing the yarn wealth! If you have yarn in your stash that you no longer need, bring it along to share with fellow members who might put it to good use. After all, one crafter's overflowing stash is another crafter's treasure!
We also aim to hold at least one workshop-style meeting each year, exploring a new skill, stitch or type of project together.
Annual membership: $25
Our annual membership fee helps support the group and the activities we enjoy together. Any increases in membership fees are discussed and agreed upon by members.
We also ask each member to contribute one handmade item for either our summer sale or our Christmas sale. These sales give our members a chance to share their creativity while helping us raise funds for a meaningful cause.
The majority of the funds raised through membership fees and sales are donated to Strathmore Boulevard Church of Christ, in appreciation of the space they provide for our monthly gatherings.
It's one of the ways we give back to the community that has helped give our group a home.
Bring your yarn, your current project and your love of creating. There's always room for one more at our crafting table!
